How This Artist Made Millions Selling Children Drawings
How this 22 year old artist made millions: ua-cam.com/video/u5m1p01uqpk/v-deo.html
In this video, we explore the intriguing paradox of Pablo Picasso's childlike artworks that sell for millions. How is it possible that these simplistic drawings command such high prices? Dive deep into Picasso's journey, from his early days as a prodigy in Spain to his challenging yet transformative years in Paris.
Picasso once doodled on a napkin in a bar while reflecting on the harsh critiques of his art. When a woman offered to buy this simple drawing for $5,000, Picasso remarked, "It took me 1 minute to make, but a lifetime to be able to make it in one minute." Despite such profound skill, the question arises: do you really need a lifetime of experience to create these childlike pieces?
We return to Spain, where Picasso's father warned him that mere talent was insufficient without recognition. Moving to Paris at 19, Picasso faced extreme hardships, illustrating that talent alone doesn't guarantee success. During his depressive 'Blue Period', he met a gallery owner who used cunning sales tactics to elevate Picasso's reputation, leading to his breakthrough in the art world.
This video also speculates on the mysterious subject of one of Picasso's significant works and discusses how art market dynamics often overshadow pure artistic skill.

I feel like Cara is a wonderful platform to have *alongside* platforms like insta, youtube, twitter, etc. because having a community of other artists to engage with is super important, and while yes you can have that elsewhere, Cara is made *for* artists so it feels alot more welcoming to both beginner artists and experienced artists who are just looking for a community of artists to engage with. I don't have much of an opinion on the professional side of things with Cara solely because of how new it is, but I will say I do like the "Jobs" forum because it at least feels like they care about artists. I don't think Cara can fully replace instagram, at least right now, despite that I love the idea of it as a platform and I do want to see it thrive, but truthfully I feel like it's best to post there alongside all of your other platforms instead of abandoning everywhere else like I've seen some artists do Again, I do want to see Cara thrive! I feel like your video on it was really good of course and I do agree with most of the points you made about the app. I wanted to add though I feel like if Cara gets enough financial support from the community it could genuinely be a better alternative to instagram. As well as maybe making it so non-artists/art enjoyers feel more welcome on the app because this would (in my opinion) make Cara significantly more viable for those seeking a more professional platform primarily. Once again, I think this is a good video on the subject!

Depends on your requirements. Do we have an uber realistic drawing of Picasso? Would Picasso be in the top 5000 best painters/drawers in the world from a perspective of skill alone?

@@driesketels his early work where he did realistic portraits of family for example in the painting Science and Charity show that he could draw very well even as a teenager. The figures created in the Rose and Blue period paintings show an excellent understanding of the human form and are hardly childlike in their rendition. Whether he is in the top 10 or whatever is for debate. But the video thumbnail says that he couldn’t draw and that is clearly not true.

Thank you for all your nice videos! For this one, I agree to some extent. Indeed, the motivation must come from within. However, one's path can also be shaped by circumstances. For instance, I produced 500 oil paintings and drawings over six years, then deliberately destroyed them all. Afterwards, I pursued other artforms for several more years, took a hiatus, and then resumed after some time. Is it a daily endeavor? No. Over extended periods? Yes. In my opinion, what truly matters is the persistent drive to create art, to express oneself, and to interact with the world, armed with the determination to transform it through imagination.

My position on Picasso: he had ability and he had imagination. He took chances and it paid off. He didn't show the Demoiselles of Avignon for a long time, even hid it away. He could have given up, but didn't.

A work encapsulating pain can act quite like that flash of memory your brain produces. A fleeting moment. Much easier for the intovert artist to dwell in it, adore it. And all is fine unleashing it. The buyer pays for what their mind lacks. All is fine seeing it. In other words owning the moment mimics living the moment.

@driesketels it reminds me of the speech Samwise gave to Frodo in Lord of the Rings. Frodo: I can’t do this, Sam. Sam: I know. It’s all wrong. By rights we shouldn’t even be here. But we are. It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something. Frodo: What are we holding onto, Sam? Sam: That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo… and it’s worth fighting for.” Sorry for wall of text 😊

It’s just another new technology, look back at our history, this happens all the time. Don’t worry, the art is not going away anywhere 😊. On the other hand, it’s going to be much more accessible for average people to start making art and expressing their true vision and feelings. It’s going to be a positive change in the end just like any other technology that has improved art in the past.

I played this video without any expectations. But then around 1:40 I felt heard when nobody could. Everything you said about loneliness and depression that you will feel once you quit your job will be eventually too much to handle. I am currently unemployed because I quit my job last year around July, so I am a full-time artist at this time. I quit because my partner told me so as I was having trouble commuting to work. He said he would take care of me and our bills while I try to find a work-from-home job or paint. So far he does take care of us, however, my savings had to be used for bills to help him out too. Now I no longer have the budget to buy materials, I can't ask my Fiance to finance my art business because he's covering the bills already. Every day when I get up, I am already depressed and tired, I am trying to find work but also still trying to make a living out of art but I've not sold one painting since Dec of last year :( Going back to the loneliness, this is so true, I can't go anywhere because my friends live far from me and I don't own a car, so I am pretty much holed up in this studio 24/7. When I know I should be grateful because I have all the time in the world to create, but I also have no money which means that I can't go far from my goals either. I shouldn't have quit my job, but I should have learned how to manage my time while I was still working. Anyway, thank you so much for this video, I truly appreciate it, this is a gem.
